Fani-Kayode points out biggest mistake APC can make

A former Minister of Aviation in Nigeria, Femi Fani-Kayode, says “the biggest mistake” the ruling All Progessives Congress (APC) can make is to get rid of Governor Mala Mai Buni of Yobe State as its caretaker national chairman.

According to Fani-Kayode in a tweet on his verified handle on Saturday, APC’s Mai Buni is not accorded due honour.

‘FFK’ therefore calls on APC bigwigs to allow Mai Buni continue as caretaker chairman of the party.

POLITICS NIGERIA recalls that Sati Bulama, a concerned APC member from Biu, Borno State recently penned an article where he said in going ahead with its congresses under the leadership of Governor Mai Buni as acting National Chairman, the APC stands the risk of “losing all” as the continuous recognition of the Buni-led committee “is tantamount to putting all its eggs in one basket in a delicate race that requires tact and caution”.

The Caretaker ExtraOrdinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the APC had tentatively fixed Local Government Congresses for the first week of September 2021.

For Fani-Kayode, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member, Mai Buni deserves nothing but respect, for how he has paddled the ship of the ruling APC since at least June 2020.

“It amazes me that the Nat. Chairman of a pol. party that has attracted 3 Governors from the ranks of the opposition together with Senators, House of Rep members,BOT members, fmr. Ministers & other notables all in 1 year is being undermined by disgruntled elements in his party.

can make is to get rid of Gov. Mala Mai Buni as its leader.

“I say this because he has done more for the credibility and strength of the ruling party than any National Chairman since its inception.

“Apart from being a formidable intellectual, a man of his word and an absolute gentleman, he is also a moderate, civilised, cerebal, fair-minded & focused individual for whom I have immense respect.

“I wish him well,” Fani-Kayode wrote.
