FCMB capital markets tops FMDQ league table, raises ₦1.53tn in 2025

FCMB Capital Markets Limited, the investment banking subsidiary of FCMB Group Plc, mobilised ₦1.53 trillion in corporate debt capital through bond listings and commercial paper quotations on FMDQ Securities Exchange Limited in 2025, emerging as the top-ranked sponsor on the exchange’s Fixed Income Primary Markets Sponsors’ League Table for the year ended December 31, 2025.

According to the exchange’s report, the firm led overall sponsor contributions across both the bond listings and commercial paper quotation segments during the review period.

In the bond market, FCMB Capital Markets accounted for 11.66 per cent of total listings to secure the leading position.

It also recorded the highest share in the commercial paper market, with 7.68 per cent of total quotations, outperforming other registration members in that category.

FMDQ disclosed that 58 registration members participated in listings, while 77 were involved in quotations. A total of 47 institutions actively sponsored fixed-income securities listings or quotations during the period, excluding Federal Government instruments.

Executive Director, Coverage and Investment Banking at FCMB Group Plc, Femi Badeji, attributed the firm’s performance to strong issuer confidence and its execution capabilities in capital market transactions.

“Our ranking reflects the confidence issuers place in our ability to structure and execute capital market transactions. Mobilising more than ₦1 trillion in a single year demonstrates the depth of demand for capital market funding and the role we play in connecting issuers with long-term investors,” he said.
