Dangote Refinery has raised its gantry petrol price to N1,265 per litre amid a surge in Nigeria’s fuel imports.
A market survey by DAILY POST showed that the mega refinery increased its petrol price by N65 per litre.
Between August 21 and August 29, 2026, the refinery raised its petrol gantry price by N100 per litre to N1,265.
Recall that Dangote Refinery had blamed the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, NMDPRA for the surge in fuel imports into the country.
NMDPRA industry data for July showed that fuel imports accounted for 43.3 percent, against 56.7 percent domestic petrol supply by Dangote Refinery.
Dangote Refinery’s upward movement in fuel prices may push up retail petrol prices, which currently stand at between N1,230 and N1,275 per litre at filling stations in Abuja.
