Court remands 30-year-old man for defiling toddler in Yola

Court Court

A High Court in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, has remanded a 30-year-old man, Ali Ibrahim, for defiling a toddler.

Ibrahim was accused of having carnal knowledge of a two-year-old girl at his house in Kwacham Ward, Mubi North Local Government Area.

The accused allegedly lured the toddler, who is a daughter of his neighbour, to his own room and violated her.

Ali, a firewood seller, confessed that he took the little girl into his room, placed her down and put his manhood into her private part.

He told the state High Court 2 in Jimeta that after committing the crime, he accompanied the girl to their house, and immediately, her mother observed an abnormality in her body.

He said the mother later reported the matter to the police; hence, his arrest, detention and arraignment for the offence.

The court, presided over by Justice Helen Hammajoda, ordered that he is remanded at a Yola correctional facility, and adjourned the case to October 27, 2021
