Femi Fani-Kayode and Shehu Sani have expressed doubt about the news that an Italian man brought coronavirus to Nigeria.

The Italian man is said to have travelled to Nigeria for a business meeting in Ogun State where he fell ill and was rushed to a special facility where he tested positive to Coronavirus.

Since the news broke out, many have been calling for the identity of the Italian man to be published.

One of those is former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, who gave reasons why he very much doubts the claim that an Italian man brought coronavirus to Nigeria.

He tweeted: ''The Italian that brought coronavirus into Nigeria has not been named & his picture has not been released to the public. The driver that was alleged to have driven him to Abeokuta said he did not do so. The passengers on the plane in which he flew into Nigeria cannot be traced.

"The claim that he was an employee of a company & that he went to their office in Lagos after leaving the airport has proved to be false. Finally, the Lagos state Comm. of Health went to see the Italian without wearing any protective gear. Something doesn't add up in this saga'', he added.

Former senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, also doubted the existence of the Italian.

He tweeted: "I hope this Italian is not a spirit from Ancient Rome; No name and no face yet.

If na naija man carri corona go Italy, the Italy Govt for don put him photo and that of him mother and father and granny and even the monkey wey dey him village for dem newspaper".
