Chams Plc gets Founder as new Board Chairman

Demola Aladekomo has been appointed the new Board Chairman of Chams Plc following the resignation of former Chairman, Dere Awosika, who left the company three days ago to “focus on her other business commitments.”

In a notice filed to the Nigerian Stock Exchange, the appointment took effect from March, 3rd 2020.

The Board and Management of Chams Plc welcomed Sir Aladekomo as the Company’s new Chairman and expressed its sincere appreciation to Dr. Awosika for her meritorious service, MyNigeria.com reported.

Note that Sir Ademola Aladekomo is the founder of CHAMS Plc. He has been described as an astute entrepreneur and a visionary business and industry leader. From 1985, when the company was incorporated, he served as the founding Managing Director until 2015 when he retired as the Group Managing Director. He currently sits on the boards of different companies and NGOs.

Aladekomo graduated from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1982 with a B.Sc degree in Computer Engineering. He also obtained an MBA (with Distinction) from the University of Lagos in 1984. He also holds a degree from the Lagos Business School where he participated in the Chief Executive Programme.

He has served as the president of the Nigeria Computer Society. He is also a Fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society, a Member of the Nigeria Society of Engineers, and a Fellow of the Computer Professional Registration Council.
