Cardoso to present economic roadmap at Bankers’ Dinner

The governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr Olayemi Cardoso, is set to present an economic roadmap for Nigeria at the annual Bankers’ Dinner of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, scheduled for this Friday.

According to a statement from the CIBN, over the weekend, the forum christened ‘The Governors Day’ will provide Cardoso the opportunity to address the stakeholders on the economic and financial markets about development during the year as well as the economic outlook for the coming year.

The CIBN said that the dinner will also be the grand finale of its 60th-anniversary celebration, “underscoring six decades of unwavering commitment to professionalism, integrity, innovation and ethics in the banking and finance industry. A testament to the Institute’s enduring dedication to these core values that have defined its journey and significant growth over the years.

“The 60th Grand Finale of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria will draw to a close at the dinner. The remarkable journey that the Institute has undertaken over these six decades is a testament to the resilience, dedication, and vision of the banking community in Nigeria. The Institute looks forward to years filled with inspiration, collaboration, and focus on the future.”

The gathering is expected to draw over 500 leaders hailing from the banking industry, influential business leaders, and senior government officials. Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima and Governor Babatunde Sanwo-Olu of Lagos are expected to deliver the goodwill messages while President/Chairman of Council CIBN, Dr. Ken Opara, will give the welcome address.

The Chairman, Dinner Planning Committee, Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe and the chairman,of the 60th Anniversary Committee, Dr. Segun Aina, have given reassurances that the dinner will be an extraordinary evening as a number of new initiatives will be added while awards will be presented to deserving individuals who have distinguished themselves in the banking industry.
