‘Art Hotel will promote Nigerian arts, crafts’ - Minister

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has said that the newly inaugurated Art Hotel in Lagos will promote indigenous arts and crafts.

Mohammed said this during the unveiling of the hotel, while also noting that the hospitality outfit would “accommodate a gallery with an extensive display of diverse Nigerian arts for the public viewing in celebration of Nigeria’s vibrant culture.”

The Chief Executive Officer of The Art Hotel, Mr. Tunji Abdul, said his team would dedicate itself to providing quality service and maintaining great customer values while infusing arts and culture into the hospitality space in Lagos.

Abdul said, “Although it has been a challenging (seven-year) planning and development process, we are delighted and honored to be opening our doors to the general public as they have positioned ourselves to meet the growing demand of the business community, art lovers, and explorers.

“Our vision is to become the leading provider of differentiated, boutique art-deco hotels in key cities around the world starting with Lagos, and expanding to the west, South Africa, Europe, and the United States.”

Other high-profile names present at the unveiling included the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat; Oniru of Iruland, Oba Gbolahan lawal; Elegushi of Ikateland, Oba Saheed Elegushi; Chairman of MTN Nigeria, Dr. Ernest Ndukwe; Head of Service, Lagos State, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola; Director-General, National Institute of Hospitality, Alhaji Nura Kangiwa, among others.
