Enugu Air has announced that all passengers and crew on its aircraft that skidded off the runway after landing at Benin Airport have safely disembarked.

In a statement, the airline revealed that there were no injuries or casualties.

Enugu Air stated that the aircraft has been secured and the relevant aviation authorities have been notified in line with established procedures.

"An assessment of the aircraft and the circumstances surrounding the occurrence is currently underway.

"As a result, there may be temporary adjustments to some flight schedules. Passengers affected by any changes will be contacted directly and provided with the necessary assistance.

"The safety of our passengers, crew, and operations remains our highest priority. We appreciate your understanding and will continue to provide updates through our official communication channels."

The airline appreciated the support, patience, and understanding shown by the passengers, partners, stakeholders, and the travelling public.

"We remain committed to the highest standards of safety and will continue to work closely with the relevant authorities as investigations continue. At this time, the Benin Airport runway has been temporarily closed, and we will continue to provide updates through our official channels as more information becomes available," it said.
