Reports indicate that an aircraft failed to land in Owerri on Saturday, August 27 due to unforeseen circumstances.

Air Peace management confirmed in a communique on Sunday, that plane which departed Lagos at 12pm on Saturday, could not land as a result of a bird strike.

According to the release, the strike got the bird stuck on the left main landing gear of the craft.

It was also stated that the strike also affected the operating parameters of the landing gear which made the pilots follow regulatory safety procedures by returning to Lagos where they landed the aircraft safely without any incident.

Due to the incident, passengers disembarked and another airplane was deployed to operate the flight.

The airline has since apologised for the inconveniences caused and assured of its strict compliance with established safety standards.
