Adesina sends mixed signals over resignation

The President of the African Development Bank, Akinwumi Adesina has sent mixed signals regarding his resignation.

Taking to Twitter, the AfDB boss was reminiscing on the times he spent as President.

He then went to offer appreciation to the bank for their support.

"On this day, May 28th, five years ago, I was elected as the 8th President of the African Development Bank. As President, I express my deepest gratitude to all the shareholders of the Bank for your support, and continued support, today and for the future. Thank you all," he tweeted.



Recall that Adesina has been accused of breaching the bank’s code of ethics.

The allegations include various cases of alleged breaches of the code of conduct, unethical conduct, private gain, an impediment to efficiency, preferential treatment, and involvement in political activity, all affecting confidence in the integrity of the bank, according to U.S Treasury Secretary, Steven Mnuchin.

In a recent report, the bank denied reports that Akinwumi Adesina, President of the bank has been asked to resign.
