World relays will only be a learning curve for Nigerian athletes - Adeleye

Sunday Adeleye Sunday Adeleye

Embattled Technical director of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, Sunday Adeleye has stated that Nigerian athletes contingent for the fast-approaching International Athletics Federation world relays in Poland will only be going to pick up valuable lessons as he doesn’t see the contingents strong enough yet to compete for medal honors.

Adeleye speaking in a chat with brila.net stressed that the competition is not one that Nigeria is thoroughly ready for.

He added that he believes it will serve the purpose of shaping the team for the Tokyo Olympic games this summer. The world relays starts will hold in Poland from the 1st of May to the 2nd of May 2021.

“It’s not a competition we are ready for so we are just going to go there and do whatever we can do. It’s going to teach us lessons and it will tell us what to prepare for at the Olympics."
