Premier League announces start date for 2020/21 season

With the 2019/20 season coming to an end on Sunday, July 26, 2020, the Premier League has said that the 2020/21 season will start on September 12 and end on May 23.

The announcement was made today on the league's official website, coming two days after Liverpool were crowned champions, an achievement that brings an end to their 30-year wait.

“Premier League Shareholders today agreed to start the 2020/21 Premier League season on 12 September 2020,” read a statement on the Premier League’s website.

“The final match round of the campaign will take place on 23 May 2021.

“The Premier League will continue to consult The FA and EFL regarding the scheduling of all domestic competitions.”
