Chelsea moved to the third position on the Premier League standings after defeating Crystal Palace 3-2 at the Selhurst Park.

The five-goal thriller saw Frank Lampard's men edge Roy Hodgson's Palace by a goal margin.

Olivier Giroud 6', Christian Pulisic 27' and Tammy Abraham 71' scored for Chelsea while Wilfried Zaha 34' and Christian Benteke 72' made sure the deficit was reduced but unable to snatch a point.

Meanwhile, Leicester City moved down one spot to fourth after being held to a stalemate by Arsenal.

Bukayo Saka set skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang up for the Gunners' opener in the 21st minute.

Mikel Arteta's men almost doubled the tally before the end of the first half but Alexandre Lacazette was denied by Leicester's keep, Kasper Schmeichel.

Arsenal were reduced to 10-men after Eddie Nketiah caught his opponent with a sloppy challenge that led to his dismissal in the 75th minute.

Jamie Vardy drew Leicester level in the 84th minute to make sure they shared the spoils.

In another game, former Manchester United star Danny Welbeck scored a screamer as Watford saw off Norwich at Vicarage Road.

Daniel Farke's men took the lead in the fourth minute through Emiliano Buendia but Craig Dawson’s header (10) quickly brought the scores level.

With the relegation battle intensifying, Welbeck’s stunning overhead kick made it 2-1 sent Norwich a step closer to the fall from the PL, boosting Watford's survival chances.

Norwich who remain bottom of the table with only four games left to play are 10 points adrift safety with only 12 points left to play for. A loss against West Ham at Carrow Road at the weekend would confirm their relegation to the Championship.

Watford now host Newcastle on Saturday at 12.30 pm in the Premier League, while Norwich host West Ham at the same time.
