Ndidi, Iheanacho features as Leicester City beat Villarreal in pre season clash

Super Eagles players, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho helped Leicester City to a pre-season victory against Spanish Laliga Santander giants Villarreal FC on Wednesday.

With the league season about to start in England, the Foxes defeated their opponents by 3-2 at the King Power stadium.

Villareal midfielder, Chukwueze didn't feature for the Yellow Subarines, while Ndidi started for Leicester and Iheanacho, came off the bench.

Leicester City open the scoring after a Fofana freekick in the 42nd minute was headed in by Caglar Soyuncu in the first half.

England’s winger Harvey Barnes doubled the lead in the 42nd minutes to end the first half 2-0.

Ayoze Perez added the third in the 51st minutes, before Daniel Amartey, Filip Benković, Marc Albrighton, Dennis Praet, Luke Thomas and Kelechi Iheanacho also joined the action, Brila.net said.

Iheanacho almost made it four for the home side shortly after arriving on the pitch, heading inches wide at the far post, from Albrighton’s corner with 75 minutes on the clock.

UEFA Europa League Champions, Villarreal however fought back and scored twice after then to make the scores look good, reports Brila.net.

Fer Nino scored a goal back for Villarreal in the 76th minutes before Alejandro Millan hit the second in the 83rd minutes to end the match 3-2.

The Foxes, who won the FA Cup last season, play Premier League champions Manchester City in the Community Shield on Saturday, before they open their league campaign at home to Wolves on August 14.
