President of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation Engr, Tikon Ishaku is backing the World Table Tennis Middle East tour quest of Africa’s last man standing Nigeria’s Quadri Aruna as he continues his bid for success today against India’s Sathiyan Gnanasekaran in the mains draws of the competition after sailing through three preliminary rounds.

Ishaku speaking in a chat with brila.net believes Aruna is good enough to eliminate his Indian opposition who is ranked 16 places behind Aruna on 37th in the world and also believes the competition will also allow Aruna to advance his world rankings to get better draws during seeding for future competition.

“The Indian he’s meeting is also a star player but I know the status of Aruna Quadri presently so I don’t have any doubt on Aruna making it to the round of 16.
This will open a window for world ranking but the single Olympic qualification is also designated for the particular day which is the last event before the tournament closes.”
