Deontay Wilder has blamed the costume he wore during his ring walk as the reason why he lost his WBC title to Tyson Fury at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Fury and Wilder clashed in Las Vegas in a second bout after their first ended in a split draw.

The second bouted ended in the seventh round after Wilder, who was knocked down twice, had his team throw in the towel.

Stepping into the ring, Wilder wore a black and red costume that looked like body armour and also had a mask to match all weighing 45-pounds.

“He didn’t hurt me at all, but the simple fact is that my uniform was way too heavy for me", he told Yahoo.

“I didn’t have no legs from the beginning of the fight. In the third round, my legs were just shot all the way through.”

Wilder also revealed that he will challenge Fury again this summer.

“The rematch is definitely going to happen. We’re going to get it on. I want to get right back to it,” he told The Athletic.
