CAF postpones AFCON 2021 over COVID-19 pandemic

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced on Tuesday that next January's Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon has been postponed until 2022.

Recall that the pandemic forced many footballing activii=ties to a halt since March with about 10,463,561 infections worldwide, according to Worldmeters.

The Cup of Nations was due to be held from Jan. 9-Feb. 6 next year but will now be scheduled for January 2022.

Cameroon will get to stage the semi-finals and final of this year's African Champions League which will be played at a single venue in Douala, CAF's executive committee decided.

Africa, however, has recorded at least 393,232 cases; 9,880 deaths; 186,952553 recoveries.
