William Troost-Ekong has called on his Watford teammates to put their FA Cup elimination behind and focus on championship games.

Watford was eliminated from the English FA Cup following their 1 – 0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Scott Mctominay’s early strike for the record English champions ended the Hornets’ involvement in the competition and also handed Watford their 10th consecutive defeat at Old Trafford in all competitions, scoring just three goals in total.

Ekong played the entire minute of the match and it was his first match since picking up an injury in the match with Huddersfield back in December.

After the game, Ekong praised the efforts of his mates but advised them to shift focus to their upcoming league game on Saturday.

“Good fight from the boys tonight. Heads up and full focus on the league Saturday! #COYH” he said.
