Italian giants Juventus have won their ninth successive Serie A title on Sunday night after defeating Sampdoria 2-0 at the Turin Stadium.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Leonardo Bernadeschi got on the scoresheet to give Mauricio Sarri's men the much needed win of the night.

It was a double celebration for both club and coach as Juve's victory meant the have won the league 36 times while Sarri became the oldest coach to win the Serie A.

Maurizio Sarri's side are the only team to win nine consecutive titles in one of Europe's top five leagues.

It extends their own record, which Bayern Munich had matched in June.

"I told the players 'if you win with me who has never won anything, it is because you are really strong'," said Sarri, whose only major trophy win was the Europa League with Chelsea in May 2019. [BBC]
