Alex Iwobi was involved in Everton’s 2-0 premier league defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.

Iwobi retained his place in the starting line up despite Gylfi Sigurdsson and Allan making a return to the starting 11 after missing the midweek victory at West Brom.

The forward lasted for 56 minutes as he was substituted for Tom Davies.

Everton fell behind after defender Ben Godfrey diverted Kai Havertz’s shot into his own net.

The Toffees conceded the second goal of the game from the spot in the second half after Jordan Pickford brought down Kai Havertz.

Jorginho stepped up to convert from six yards to secure the win and continue Thomas Tuchel’s unbeaten run as Chelsea Boss.

The German tactician also became the first manager in Premier League history to see his side keep a clean sheet in each of his first five home games in charge.

The defeat ended Everton’s nine-game unbeaten streak away from home and dealt the team’s top four hopes a blow.

Everton remains in the sixth position with 46 points, four behind Chelsea, who occupy the last champions league spot.
