FC Bayern Munich has unveiled a special-edition kit to mark the 120-year anniversary of the club which was established 27th February 1900.

This special kit is based on a commemorative jersey worn by the club when it won its first league title in 1931/32.

The players are expected to wear the jersey against Augsburg on 8 March.

This development is coming after the club thrashed Chelsea 3-0 on their home grounds with Serge Gnabry netting twice in the historic encounter.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard was completely disappointed with the result however he conceded to the fact that Bayern was the better side.

"The performance was poor and sometimes you have to be brutally honest. They outclassed us in every department and it's quite sobering. The level of team they are is why they challenge in the Bundesliga and Europe year in year out. I'm disappointed we couldn't do more against them. We have to take it on the chin and work towards getting back to the levels we want to be at," Lampard told BT Sport.

For the anniversary preparations, "the club’s retro kit - designed by Adidas representing both the past and future of the club will be worn. While the design is clearly based on tradition - with the club’s badge as well as player names, numbers and sponsors all kept to a minimalistic level – the kit still maintains its modern production level.

"The shirt will be worn only once by the record Bundesliga champions, against Bavarian rivals Augsburg on Sunday 8 March at the Allianz Arena, which will also be illuminated in a special way with "120" inscribed in gold across the outside of the stadium above its usual red," according to bundesliga.com.
