Enyimba FC goalkeeper Olufemi Kayode has stated that the People’s Elephants were left stunned and in pain after a late Tshegofatso Mabasa goal on the 89th minute earned Orlando Pirates a 2-1 win over Enyimba to see the Buccaneers go past the People’s Elephants in the group.

Kayode speaking in a chat with brila.net said the defeat was so painful having gotten to the point of picking a result in the game only to lose it towards the end. He however said the team will however need not ponder over the defeat but simply shift focus on the next game and be back with a good result in their next fixture in group A of the CAF Confederation Cup.

“Honestly it’s a very painful one to the entire team Enyimba as a whole and as a family. We all felt the loss but the truth is that we’re not going to keep pondering over it, the game is gone, there is nothing that can bring the game back. No matter how painful we must keep pushing and focus on the next game. We just have to move on because that’s part of the game.”
