Arsenal close to extending striker, Aubameyang's contract

Arsenal are close to sealing a contract extension for club captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as he's set to end speculation about his future with the new deal.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Aubameyang is nearing an agreement on an extension to a deal which is currently due to expire at the end of next season.

Since his move to Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018, he has scored 54 goals in 85 Premier League games.

Aubameyang, 31, is younger than Willian, 32 on Sunday, who has been offered a three-year deal to move from Chelsea on a free transfer.

The Gabonese international has b been influential for the Gunners, helping them win a historic 14th FA Cup title with four goals against Manchester City and Chelsea in the semi and final matches.

Coach, Mikel Arteta, has hinted that he is sure the win would make the striker commit his future to the club.
