Two-time unified heavyweight champion of the world, Anthony Olaseni Joshua, has paid respect to the Otedola family.

AJ released a documentary video of his time in Nigeria where he visited the Makoko area of Lagos, the New Africa Shrine and his father's house in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

In the video, Joshua reflected on his first-ever trip to Nigeria and said that he owed it to the Otedolas for making it memorable.

While MyNIgeria.com is not dabbling into any rumour of a relationship between the boxer and DJ Cuppy, daughter of Nigerian billionaire, Femi Otedola, MyNigeria can confirm that AJ is a friend of the family.

"My friend, the Otedola family, big respect to them, they helped organised my last trip, made sure that things were in place," he said.

"And I had a great time but unfortunately, I wasn't the heavyweight champion of the world.

"It's not about the riches in a man's pocket. A man can't run with money in his pocket, all he can run with is hopes in his heart and that's why for the kids, it's not about what I bring in my pocket, it's about the love, the energy, the connection I bring within my heart and I think that's what they value the more.

"So I wanted to make sure I came back as champion, to show it is relatable, you can go from certain things in life. Every person who wants to go over certain hurdles may fail the first time and if you do just make sure you don't give up and that was my show in it.

I failed, it's fine, I learned and went again and I may have failed the last time, I would have gone again and made sure I step back here as heavyweight champion of the world. I just happened to do it in the rematch my first time around."
