Former Manchester United star, Memphis Depay, has opened up on his dream plan after hanging his boots, revealing that he would love to build his music career.

The 26-year-old who now plays for Lyon in France began pursuing a hip-hop career in June 2017 when he released his Los Angeles-inspired freestyle, "LA Vibes" featuring his Dutch teammate - Quincy Promes.

The song's music video earned around 150,000 views within hours of being uploaded to YouTube.

The Dutch star who has already released a few tracks of love of rap music revealed that he dreams to sing at a music festival.

“I’ve many dreams,” he said on an Instagram Live with BR Football. “Maybe I’ll get to experience them one day. If I can imagine it, it means I can do it.

“I would need artists who can bring the energy of the crowd. I need a producer. I can’t produce myself in a studio.”

Memphis who had a torrid time wearing the iconic jersey no. 7 at Old Trafford (2 goals in 33 apps) found his rhythm again after moving to Lyon, scoring 43 goals in 102 appearances.

With his contract set to run out by the end of the 2021 summer, Lyon are keen on retaining the services of the attacker who has netted nine goals in 13 Ligue 1 so far.

“We will do everything to agree an extension. All the authorities in Lyon are in favour of extending his contract,” club president Jean-Michel Aulas told OLTV.

“We are working on it a lot. I have a lot of conversations with Memphis, Rudi and Juninho [Lyon’s sporting director]. Not daily, but regularly.

“We made him a certain number of proposals, which he did not accept. He was waiting to be able to resume playing. He had imagined being able to play the Euros with the Netherlands, then there was this injury. He recovered faster, but for the moment we have not agreed.”

Before being sidelined with an injury that initially ruled him out of the Euro 2020, Memphis had scored five in five appearances to help Lyon, who scored a total of nine goals, move out of the group stages of the Champions League.

With the tournament affected by the coronavirus pandemic, the recuperating attacker would be on course for a return to football (Euro 2020 & UCL, amongst others) after games resume when it is safe to play.
