'Women need to learn martial arts for self defense' - Actress Stella Damasus

Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus has spoken about the need for women to learn martial arts for self-defence against domestic violence.

The mother of two had shared a movie clip showing a wife punching her abusive husband in the face after he tried to hit her first.

“Where are all the members of my squad? Martial arts? What say you???!!!! #wcw #wednesday,” she wrote as the caption.

Engaging comments on the post, the actress expressed her support for the punch given to the husband by the wife.

However, it soon became an opportunity for some to accuse her of promoting domestic violence against men.

This made the actress clarify her stance in a new Instagram Live video. She maintained that she is not supporting domestic violence. However, she is supporting women learning martial arts to stand up for themselves against gender-based violence.
