Fashion Photographer Femi Alabede popularly known as Alfe has advised professionals to always “run away from difficult clients”.

Speaking during an interview with Mynigeria TV, on Thursday, February 18, 2021, Alfe narrated how he dealt with some difficult customers in his line of work as a photographer.

According to him, although he has been fortunate in his clienteles, anytime he has a challenge with his client he tries as much as possible to reason with them and let things go.

“I’ve been lucky not to face anyone, I don’t usually take a piece easily. I will still be all nice and everything, but I can just decide that I’m not going to work with you again. I don’t have to tell you; all I need to do is avoid you. I’ve really been lucky not to have faced some extreme difficult clients.”

Having graduated from the university with a degree in Industrial Chemistry, Alfe believes photography chose him, adding that he has always had the passion for creative arts.

“I like to say photography chose me because I never had the hint that I will go into photography but I’ve always had a creative mind. On a journey to finding myself, I started out drawing. I used to paint some years ago. So, when I got my first camera it was actually to take pictures of my artwork. And along the line, I started exploring photography.”

In response to a questioned if the perception that photographers are womanisers is true, he answered that he understands the notion as they work a lot with females, although he tries to keep it professional.

“I can’t speak for other photographers, but to an extent, I can understand the perception because most photographers work with more females. And females like taking photos so they tend to warm up to photographers so I can understand the perception. For myself I think I keep it professional nine per cent of the time,” he said.
