The death of comedienne, Mercy Cynthia Ginikanwa who was also known in the showbiz circle as Ada Jesus has generated controversy on the social media platform, Twitter.

The actress, whose demise was first reported on Facebook by one Maria Ude Nwachi, a Digital Creator and Strategist has prompted reactions from Nigerians who were familiar with the talented 24-years-old content creator.

According to reports that went rife on Nigeria's mainstream media, the actress succumbed to kidney disease after battling the ailment for months.

She reportedly collapsed on the evening of Tuesday, April 20, 2021, after suffering a heart attack in Abuja. She was rushed to hospital but was later confirmed dead on Wednesday, April 21, 2021.

Despite the glaring fact that she died as a result of kidney failure, some Nigerians have suggested that her passing was provoked by her constant disrespect of men of God.

Without actually stating it, some Nigerians on Twitter implied that the curse of Psalms 105:15 befell the young actress. The passage reads: "Do not touch My anointed ones; do my prophets no harm."

It is no secret the Ada Jesus locked horns with some popular and "powerful" Men of God in the country. The one that readily comes to mind is her famous altercation with Prophet Odumeje after she accused him of performing fake miracles.

She sought to prove her point by stating that she personally sent some people to the
the pastor who connived and faked a miracle with them during service.

Months after that accusation, the comedienne fell ill and was diagnosed with a kidney problem that left her paralyzed.

It has been said that the ailment was a result of her accusation against the prophet and even her family took her to the church to seek forgiveness. Several visits and pleas from the family on her behalf fell on the deaf ears as Prophet Odumeje vowed not to forgive her until she provides evidence to back her claims.

"You people must bring to me the people that I do fake miracle with if not when I'm done with her I'll start with your generation," Odumeje said in a video of his speech that emerged online."

Rita Edochie who was also accused of the crime said in the video: "You will go from here. You will die from this so others can learn."

In 2020, Rita Edochie who is married to Tony Edochie who is the younger brother of Pete Edochie was embroiled in the allegations of fake miracles due to her relationship with Prophet Odumeje.

In 2020, the veteran actress was allegedly running a scam alongside Odumeje. According to the reports, Edochie coerced or paid individuals to feign ailments and have the pastor pray for them and they got healed whilst in actuality they were never ill.

As her condition worsened, the man of God in a sermon in his church said he has forgiven her for everything and even gifted her a whopping sum of N1 million.

Ada Jesus in a Facebook post in September 2020, criticized Pastor David Ibiyeomie, Senior pastor of salvation Ministries for calling Daddy Freeze a bastard. In the video, she questioned the man of God who was his father. A comment which generated a lot of reactions on social media.
