Nigerian actor and producer, Olushola Michaels has officially launched a mini film studio, Elixir.

The production outfit, according to Michaels, is created to ease the stress of filmmakers and content producers.

Located in Ikeja, Lagos, Elixir is a multipurpose studio that can accommodate different film projects with the latest film technology. The facility includes various standard rooms, hospitals, office spaces, police station, dress and make-up rooms with exquisite interiors can be used as movie locations.

Speaking at the launch, Michaels said the idea is to support the fast-growing entertainment industry. Hence, the studio will also bring out his creativity as a filmmaker.

“As the creative industry is moving, I couldn’t be more excited than to support. There is a need to ease the stress of sourcing for film locations. Sometimes, many of my colleagues travel far as Badagry to shoot a scene at a police station, and then drive back to Lagos Island to look for a hospital to shoot another scene with hoodlums harassing and demanding for huge amount before we can shoot in a particular location.”

The travelling consultant cum producer opened up that he tapped the idea from award-winning filmmaker, Biodun Stephen who happened to be his mentor.

“I was thrilled when I got an opportunity to visit Biodun Stephen’s studio. It opened my eyes to so many things, like instead of me sourcing for location around town. So, within a month, I decided to set up my studio and she was so excited to see this as well. Though, it cost me a lot of money because I want the kind of movie that meets the international standard. I want to produce a world-class movie.”
