Nigerian musicians you probably didn't know were nominated for Grammy Award

Grammy Award has been a major achievement for not only Nigerians but many artists across the world.

However, there have been few Nigerians who have been nominated and won the Grammy Awards.

Nigerian singer Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, known professionally as Burna Boy recently won the Grammy's for the Best World Music Album "Twice as Tall".

Prior to Burna Boy's win, there have been some artistes who have been nominated for the Grammy Award.

They include,

King Sunny Ade - Best World Music Album - 1998/1999

Afrobeat Singer, Femi Kuti - Best World Music Album - 2003 - Fight to Win

- Day by Day - Best Contemporary World Music Album - 2010

- Africa for Africa - Best Contemporary World Music Album - 2012

- No Place for My Dream - Best Contemporary World Music Album - 2014

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie - 2015, Album of the Year - Beyoncé by Beyoncé

Seun Kuti - Best Contemporary World Music Album - Black Times - 2018

On the other hand, Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun known by his stage name Wizkid has also been recorded to have won the Grammy Award in a song he featured American singer Beyonce on her album song "Brown Skin Girl" for the Best Music Video.
