Lady Gaga's "Stupid Love" has hit the number one position on the US iTunes chart.

This is coming after the American singer released visuals to the lead single off her upcoming sixth studio album.

Additionally, the song’s official music video amassed nearly 500K YouTube views in its first hour.

“Stupid Love” has made a big opening day splash on radio. Dozens of stations in the U.S have already played the song, and many have confirmed plans to spin the song every hour for much of Friday.

The singer took to Twitter to announce the release of the video as early as 5 am.

Stupid Love is an electro-pop track where Gaga can be heard singing about falling for someone and irrefutably wanting their love.

Talking about her new album, which is still untitled, the pop singer hinted at more dancing to feature in her songs. For her, the essence is to make people happy.

"I think the best way to describe all of the things that you just said is that I put all my heart, all my pain, all my messages from the other realm that I hear of what they… what they tell me to tell the world and I put it into music that I believe to be so fun and you know, energetically really pure, and I want people to dance and feel happy,” the actress said.

Promising her fans great music, she said it will be the best they've ever heard.
