The Nigerian entertainment industry, particularly the film making industry, is no doubt thriving and some celebrities have been able to cash out heavily from it.

The year 2020 started out on a challenging note for so many people all over the world but it also seems to have contributed positively to the thriving movie industry.

A number of celebrities released movies during the year and their hard work paid off eventually.

Some female celebrities that stood out during the year include Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham to name a few.

Today, Legit.ng has decided to focus the spotlight on some of the actresses who featured in highest grossing movies of year 2020.

1. Funke Akindele in Omo Ghetto The Saga:

The actress’ blockbuster movie was a fan favourite and it was practically sold out in cinemas for several weeks after its release. According to Nigerian Box Office Yearbook, the movie made over N187 million.

2. Toyin Abraham in Fate of Alakada:

This is another movie that got fans talking as they were highly impressed by it. It is good to see that their likeness also translated to numbers as the film is said to have made over N113 million.

3. Osas Ighodalo in Rattle Snake:

The Ahanna Story: This movie gave a new dimension to action films in Nigeria and fans were really pleased with how things played out.

Osas’ role as a member of a gang who fell in love with the boss who betrayed them all was quite believable and fans were happy with how things progressed in the movie.

It left them wanting to watch the movie all over again to relive the experience. The film is said to have made over N69 million.

4. Chioma Chukwuka in Omo Ghetto:

The Saga: This actress surprised many with her role as a thug in the movie. Fans were very amused and entertained by her character.

5. Nse Ikpe Etim in Quam’s Money:

This movie was also one that kept Nigerians entertained during the festive season. According to Nigeria Box Office Yearbook 2020, it made over N59 million.
