The Nigerian Ambassador to Togo, Debo Adesina, has asked the military in West Africa to find ways to end insecurity in the sub-region.

Adesina spoke during a courtesy visit to his office in Lome, Togo, by officers and men of the Nigerian Armed Forces Command and Staff College Study, Jaji.

A statement on Tuesday said the group was on a study tour in Togo and decided to visit the Nigeria embassy.

The team, led by Brig. Gen. Mohammed Abdullahi also had officers from the Republic of Benin, Cameroun, Ghana, and the host country, Togo.

Adesina noted that inasmuch as there were security challenges in Nigeria, in the West African sub-region and the African continent at large, “the nativity of courage and resilience to our continent, the integrity of African peoples, the decency of our being and the faith we have nurtured in ourselves throughout history, even in the face of greater adversities, will ensure our triumph.”

Adesina challenged the military officers to deliberate thoroughly on ways to ending security challenges bedevilling the West-African sub-region.

“We have a blessed and great region and we must be the trigger for Africa’s peace and prosperity,” the ambassador added.
