Following a historic concourt rule that saw the court overturning last year’s Presidential elections in Malawi, the country has announced it will hold fresh polls in May 2020, The Herald reports.

According to the publication:

Malawi Parliament Monday agreed that the country’s fresh presidential poll should be held on May 19 this year following the constitutional court’s February 3 nullification of the May 2019 presidential poll.

The May 2019 Presidential elections were overturned after evidence of rigging surfaced. The ConCourt nullified the elections and ordered the country to repoll within 150 days.
