'You are sick' - Ghanaian celebrities blasts man who wants to have sex with 12-years-old DJ

A number of Ghanaian celebrities have called-out a young Ghanaian man who expressed sexual desire to "chop" young celebrity disk jockey, Dj Switch.

Commenting on a Facebook post by Dj Switch, the young man, identified simply as Richard Amoah said in Ghanaian pidgin, "a for chop this kiddie," meaning "I need to have sex with this girl."

His comment generated a stir on social media with many describing him as "pedophile" for harbouring the thought of having sex with a girl who is just 12-years-old.

Reacting, Former Chairperson of Ghana's Electoral Commission, said: "Dear Mr. Richard Amoah, please note that 'chopping' a child is a criminal act. It is not a joke. And it is morally reprehensible. Get treatment!"

"Richard Amoah, we have seen your face and we will find you..what a shame, " On-Air-Personality, Kofi Okyere Darko (K.O.D) wrote on Instagram.

A social media user with the handle, @aba_ahinful said: "We have dealt with him on Facebook but it seems he has no remorse at all. So my friends and I have reported his account but it's not enough!! Please help get him into police custody to answer questions!!"

Another one wrote: "The fact that he had the confidence to comment on a public platform is what's making it even worse"

A user by the name, @jay_wally8701 blamed his comment on societal and cultural values "Am not surprised at this gentleman’s comments... that’s the culture being encouraged and upheld in Ghana. The system in Ghana needs to be purged . The young generation needs to wake up and hold everyone accountable for their actions."

Born Erica Armah Bra-Bulu Tandoh, Dj Switch is a young multi-talented entertainer who gained prominence after she won the 2017 edition of TV3's reality show, Talented Kids. She can rap, dance and sing.

She is known for her skills and flair on the turn-table as well as in-depth knowledge of the Ghanaian music industry.

In June 2018, Dj Switch became the youngest person to win Ghana's annual award. She was also acknowledged by Jay Z's Roc Nation for her talent and skills on Black History Month.

Since her big break, she has performed alongside legendary singer, Wyclef Jean. Dj Switch also performed at the 2019 edition of the World Bank Gala in Washighton DC.

In 2020, she was listed among Top 100 child prodigies from all around the world.
