Thomas Partey wants £44million Arsenal move

Ghana and Atletico Madrid midfielder, Thomas Partey is bent on joining English Premier League side, Arsenal.

The future of the 27-year-old star has been cast in doubt since rumours went rife of Arsenal's interest.

Goal reports that he can leave the Wanda Metropolitano if his £44million release clause is triggered.

Partey's unique playing style has endeared him to coach Diego Simeone who belives his side still needs him.

Athletico Madrid has been hit hard due to the financial impact of COVID-19.

The LaLiga club have to make sales and would not be able to offer the player a more lucrative extension to his deal.

The Gunners are believed to be also keen on Partey and reportedly offered striker Alexandre Lacazette in a swap deal.

However, Atletico want full payment for Partey.
