Nigerian Army is fully involved in B'Haram fight- Chad

The Embassy of the Republic of Chad has debunked any rumours stating that the Nigeria Army is docile in the fight against the terrorist group, Boko Haram.

In a statement issued to the general public, Chad said the purported information is misleading and threatens diplomatic relations between both nations, as Chad's President, Idriss Deby Itno is a brother to President Muhammadu Buhari.

The statement noted that Nigeria is bound to Chad as well as its defenses by history geography, culture and blood.

In a bid to rewrite the narrative, Chad said Nigeria is their number one economic partner, noting it is common to share the same security boundaries, since they also share the same borders.

"To this end, the Embassy trusts it can rely on all categories of press organisations to adequately explain the stakes related to the common destiny of both countries towards sub-regional and continental integration. The cooperation established in the framework of the Lac Chad Basin Commission and the common fight carried out together within the Multinational Joint Task Force are perfect illustrations," the statement read in part.

Asking the Press to clear its name, it concluded that nothing will distract both countries from their goal- which is to restore peace, security and stability.
