A 40, a Rwandan national, Zabayo Malusugampologoma, has been arrested by Ugandan Police for the alleged murder of his colleague on Thursday night.

According to the Police in Gomba District, Uganda, the culprit and victim, Gerald Kikutteyo, 40, a resident of Isingiro District, were involved in a scuffle before the latter met his doom.

Zobayo, upon interrogation, said that his colleague wouldn't have died if not for his ‘ancestral spirits’ that were at work, adding that he didn't mean to kill Kikutteyo.

The police report revealed that the fight erupted circa 11 pm at the home of Mr Matiya Ddamulira, a trader at Nkoma village in Mpenja Sub County, when who employed both of them.

"Zabayo knocked Kikutteyo on the head and finally got a machete and cut him leading to his death. When he noticed that he had killed his colleague, Zabayo removed the body from the bedroom they were sharing and dumped it in the compound of my house," Mr Ddamulira told police at Kanoni Police Station.

Zobayo has been detained at Kanoni Police Station pending further investigations into Kikutteyo's murder.

He will be arraigned in court upon the completion of the investigations, Mr Joseph T, ulyaKatonga Regional Police Spokesperson said.
