Atiku doesn't believe in zoning - Amaechi

Former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi hass said that he's eager to race the presidential primary election of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) against former vice president Atiku Abubakar.

According to him, this is because Atiku doesn't believe in having the party zone the ticket to the South.

Amaechi said this during an interview with Trust TV.

He said, "Yes and No. Yes, because I believe Nigeria is not yet a United entity. So, if it's the turn of the South, it's the turn of the South but Vice President Atiku says he doesn't believe in zoning, so okay, let's go to the Primary.

When asked if he believes another contestant, Hayatu-deen, could step down for Atiku, he said:

"I wish them luck. Let me repeat this, there is a colleague of mine I told be careful, if Tinubu wins in 2023, you will go to jail. He is there now. I went to an elderly man in Buhari's Government, if Tinubu wins it won't be easy, and I saw him now he is suffering. The same way I am pleading with my colleagues and friends from the North, let's not play North and South politics, I don't like it, let's not do it. I want to copy former President Obasanjo, he is a Nationalist. You might not like him, I had disagreements with him, but he is a Nigerian President, not a Yoruba President."
