‘I used my first money in football to buy a house for my father’ - Osimhen

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has revealed that he used the first money he received from football to buy a house for his father.

Osimhen in a chat with YouTuber, Korty EO, stated that it was the best decision he has made in his life.

He said, “God gives, and he takes. I lost my mum a long time ago. And I lost my father in 2020. But I know that they are proud of me.

“The first time I received my first money in football, I bought a house for my father. So, that’s one of the greatest achievements for me.

“To carry the name of the family on my shoulders, it’s actually not an easy thing. You got some attacking you spiritually. Some hating on you physically. And some backstabbing you. Because they prefer money to life, but it’s just God that’s keeping me.”

Personal life

Osimhen is a Christian. He has stated that he has drawn inspiration from Sadio Mané, who helps his community in Senegal, and has said he wants to help disabled people throughout Africa.

Osimhen announced the birth of his first child, a daughter named Haly, born October 2022.

Osimhen is a right-footed centre-forward known for his presence, athleticism, strength, directness, runs into space, eye for goal and his linkup play. At 185 cm, he has good holdup play. He also relies on pace to beat opponents.

Osimhen is regarded as one of the best centre-forwards in European football. He has been compared to fellow young strikers Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Alexander Isak and Dušan Vlahović.
