Nigeria striker Paul Onuachu has climbed into the top 10 of the European Golden Shoe standings following a prolific run of form for Trabzonspor in the 2025/26 season.

The 31-year-old forward has scored 21 league goals, providing two assists in 24 appearances, with 23 starts and 2,059 minutes played in the Turkish Super Lig, which underlines his importance as the focal point of his side’s attack.

Onuachu currently sits 10th on the Golden Shoe rankings with 31.5 points, calculated using a coefficient system that gives greater weight to goals scored in Europe’s top five leagues, leaving him behind Harry Kane, who leads the race with 31 goals and 62 points for Bayern Munich.

Kylian Mbappé follows with 23 goals and 46 points for Real Madrid, while Erling Haaland has 22 goals and 44 points for Manchester City.

Igor Thiago has registered 19 goals and 38 points for Brentford, with Luis Suárez scoring 24 goals for 36 points at Sporting CP.

Deniz Undav and Vedat Muriqi both have 18 goals and 36 points for VfB Stuttgart and RCD Mallorca respectively, while Ayase Ueda has 22 goals and 33 points for Feyenoord Rotterdam.

Joaquín Panichelli has scored 16 goals for 32 points at RC Strasbourg, placing him just above Onuachu, who completes the top 10 with his 21 goals and 31.5 points.

Despite playing in a league with a 1.5 coefficient, Onuachu’s consistency has kept him competitive alongside Europe’s elite forwards.

A key driver of his rise has been a remarkable run in recent weeks, during which he scored 10 goals across nine matches, including a sequence of eight consecutive games on the scoresheet before the streak was halted in a 1-0 win over Eyüpspor just before the international break.

During that period, he produced decisive contributions, including a brace in a 3-1 win over Kayserispor and another two-goal display in a 3-0 victory against Samsunspor, while also recording a goal and an assist in a 3-1 triumph over Fatih Karagümrük.

He also scored against Gaziantep FK, Fenerbahçe, Antalyaspor and Kasımpaşa, demonstrating both consistency and influence even in defeat.

With seven matches still to play, the Nigerian forward remains well placed to improve his standing and potentially climb higher among Europe’s most prolific scorers if he sustains his current form.
