Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, wants his old club to appoint Michael Carrick as the club’s next permanent manager.
Carrick is currently serving as a caretaker manager until the end of the season when the Red Devils will appoint a new permanent manager for the next season.
However, Rooney believes his former teammate Carrick should become the club’s next permanent coach, adding that he knows him very well.
Speaking as Man United defeated Aston Villa 3-1 on Sunday, Rooney said as quoted by Metro, “100% Carrick should (get the Man United job). I have said this. I knew this was going to happen with Michael Carrick.
“I know him very well. I know his character, his personality.
“He has the best winning percentage. For me, he has to get the job.”
