Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick has stated that the club could still stage a remarkable surge in the Premier League title race.

The Red Devils came from a goal down to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Old Trafford, recording their sixth victory in their last seven Premier League matches.

Manchester United will travel to Newcastle United for their next encounter on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils are currently 13 points behind leaders Arsenal, but Carrick believes anything is possible.

“You cannot rule anything out in football, but we have to be realistic,” Carrick said.

“Above us now, there are two fantastic teams.

“Of course, I’m being realistic about it. We have to win a lot of football matches for that to happen.”
