Manchester United’s preferred choice manager to replace interim coach, Michael Carrick has been revealed.
The Red Devils appointed Carrick temporarily for the remainder of the season after sacking Ruben Amorim.
Carrick has so far been impressive for Man United since replacing Amorim, winning four games in a row before playing a 1-1 draw with West Ham United on Tuesday.
Manchester United are not accelerating their plans to appoint a new manager at the moment and still do not view Carrick as the favourite for the job in the summer.
The likes of Carlo Ancelotti, Luis Enrique, Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, Roberto De Zerbi and Oliver Glasner have all been linked with Man United since Amorim’s dismissal.
However, according to Manchester Evening News, Tuchel, who is the current head coach of England, is emerging as the ‘preferred choice’ of Man United’s decision-makers.
Tuchel will be available in July after the 2026 World Cup tournament in the summer because that is when his contract with the Three Lions will expire.
