Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze has credited manager Marco Silva for his goal against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League last weekend.
After spending a month away at the Africa Cup of Nations, Chukwueze came off the bench to draw the Cottagers level after Yasin Ayari had given Brighton the lead at Craven Cottage.
Chukwueze, who was introduced into the game in the 59th minute, found the back of the net in the 72nd minute with a composed finish following a fine assist from Joachim Andersen.
Harry Wilson grabbed the late winner in stoppage time to secure all three points for Fulham.
Speaking after the match, Chukwueze disclosed that the manager urged him to go out on the pitch and do what he does best.
“The manager told me to do what I can do best,” Chukwueze said after the match. “Everything worked out today.”
“Andersen gave me a fantastic pass. I’ll give him the credit in the dressing room. Harry is in top form. He deserves it. He’s been incredible all season.
“I’m really happy for the team and for my goal. We really needed this win. It wasn’t easy to come back, but we played a great match.”
