CAF has named Ghana’s Daniel Laryea as the centre referee for the crucial semi-final clash between Nigeria and Morocco at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
Laryea is regarded as one of the top referees on the African continent.
The 39-year-old will be officiating his second match at the 2025 AFCON finals.
He previously served as the centre referee during the group-stage encounter between Algeria and Burkina Faso.
Laryea was also in charge of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for the quarter-final clash between Morocco and Cameroon.
Other officials appointed for the encounter include South Africa’s Zakhele Siwela and Lesotho’s Souru Phatsoane, who will serve as assistant referees.
Rwanda’s Samuel Uwikunda has been named the fourth official, while South Africa’s Abongile Tom will lead the VAR team.
