Algeria captain, Riyad Mahrez has joked he is afraid of the Super Eagles of Nigeria because they have scored 12 goals at the ongoing AFCON in Morocco.
Mahrez spoke to reporters at his post-match interview on Friday ahead of Nigeria’s clash with the Desert Foxes in the quarter-final on Saturday evening.
The former Manchester City winger also said he expects a good game because the Algerian team also has quality.
“Nigeria have scored 12 goals, I am afraid,” Mahrez laughed.
“No, they have scored a lot of goals in this competition. They have a very good attack, I cannot deny it, but tomorrow [Saturday] will be tomorrow [Saturday].
“So, I am not scared at all, it’s a football game, we have our quality, and I think it will be a good game on Saturday.”
