Victor Osimhen is set to miss the Super Eagles’ final group-stage match against the Cranes of Uganda at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The three-time African champions have already booked their ticket to the knockout phase of the competition, having won their opening two matches against Tanzania and Tunisia.

Eric Chelle’s side kicked off their campaign with a 2–1 victory over Tanzania before edging Tunisia 3–2 in their second game.

A win against Uganda will cement the Super Eagles’ position as Group C winners, heading into the round of 16.

Reports from Nigeria’s camp suggest that head coach Eric Chelle will rest Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen against Uganda.

The 27-year-old is walking a disciplinary tightrope, having been booked against Tunisia in Nigeria’s last game.

Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu is expected to start in place of the former Napoli striker.

The Super Eagles will face Uganda later today, Tuesday, December 30, at the Fez Stadium.

The match will kick off at 5:00 pm local time.
