Fenerbahce captain Milan Skriniar has stated that his side will stop the threat posed by Victor Osimhen and Mauro Icardi when they host Galatasaray in the feisty Istanbul derby.

Fenerbahce will welcome the Turkish champions to the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, Istanbul, on Monday night in the Turkish Super Lig clash.

With just two points separating the two archrivals, a win for Fenerbahce will see them topple Galatasaray from the top of the league standings.

Speaking ahead of the mammoth clash, Skriniar — whose aerial collision with Osimhen resulted in his facial injury back in 2021 — stated that his side need to be compact and aggressive to stop Osimhen and Icardi.

“Both (Osimhen, Icardi) are very good centre-forwards. Of course, they have different types of characteristics, but they are very good players,” he told beIN Sports.

“We will see what we need to do defensively on Monday. We need to play compactly and aggressively and be together so we can stop them.”

Osimhen is expected to return from injury for the Yellow and Reds after missing their last three matches.
